About the Author:
I am a 4th grade teacher at Hubbard Woods School in Winnetka, Illinois. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and moved to the Chicago area in September of 1993 to attend Northwestern University in Evanston. After graduating in June, 1997, I returned to California for a brief career at Paramount Studios, working on a short-lived sitcom. Not enjoying life in Hollywood, I headed back to Evanston that fall and embarked on the path to teaching. I began work on my graduate degree in Elementary Education at National-Louis University in Evanston, while working at NLU's Baker Demonstration School. I received my Master's in Elementary Education in June, 2000. That fall, I began teaching 4th grade at Hubbard Woods School in Winnetka, and am fortunate to have been there ever since.
Writing is one of my favorite activities, along with playing many sports (especially baseball, basketball, bowling and golf), reading, coaching baseball, and supporting the Northwestern Wildcats. Right now I am working on my third novel, tentatively titled King of Buckthorn. I am nearing the completion of the third major draft, which involved some significant changes to the story. There is no release date scheduled, but it will hopefully see the light of day in late 2009 or some time in 2010.
